IT’S NOT GOING TO GO AWAY’

That you can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time is a fact which seems to be completely lost on the Committee of the Greenock Morton Supporters’ Society Ltd.
Fully two weeks have elapsed since Trust ‘Master’ and Chairman Stuart Duncan
made this announcement:

‘The Supporters’ Trust have now completed their own investigation into the affairs of the Stars of 79 Celebration evening. Many lessons have been learned. As a result of those investigation, which resulted in representatives of the Trust speaking to many people not previously spoken to be the police, a report has been compiled on the events leading up to the evening, the activities on the night of the event and activities that took place after the event. Given the contents of the report The Board of the Trust have agreed to seek legal advice as to what action is now available to them. We will keep you updated on any developments’……. and two days later on Greenockmorton.org, David Bell’s website from which Mortonjag is banned for asking questions of the Trust, ‘Master’ Duncan refuted a suggestion that’cooler heads may have prevailed’ with:

‘…. Its was always our intention to fully investigate further, after the police decided not to act…………… IT’S JUST TAKEN US LONGER THAN WE THOUGHT……..it  may

even once more become the subject of a police investigation’….that shortly after his heir apparent, Sean Donnelly had provided on Tontastic’s ‘propaganda platform’:

‘ A small update for you all, I know its not much but these things do take time. And most we cannot discuss until it is all over with. Hope you all bear with us in this matter’

Sound advice you’d imagine! Hours later and AGAIN on ‘Bell’s Comic’ Mr Donnelly posted PRIVATE Trust ‘accounts’ in an obvious attempt to further discredit Jim Gallacher and to deflect attention from unanswered questions!

Mr Donnelly dislikes criticism, appearing to act impulsively in response, and his behaviour (for example in publishing defamatory allegations) has oft’ been beyond the pale. Yesterday, in a transparent attempt to ‘field’ accusations of ‘delaying tactics’ and with the inevitable childish ‘smiley’,  he announced:

Oh look there was an update in the Tele!!

Looks like Barbi is not the only one making sure its not forgotten and is dealt with.

It will not go away!!!

There had been NO ‘update’ in the Greenock Telegraph. A tiny article had appeared on the inside pages merely echoing old information. Mr Donnelly is correct in stating that ‘Barbi is not the only one making sure it’s not forgotten’ – indeed Mortonjag suspects that the ‘Tilly’ approached the Trust! It’s reassuring that the media have not forgotten an incident which was also reported by the ‘Scottish Sun’.

Perhaps ‘The Sun’ will publish an ARTICLE in due course!!! Perhaps ‘The Sun’ will do so before the Trust ‘updates us on any developments’!…..                                                                   …. in any event, you can’t fool all of the people all of the time, though the Trust Committee may have been only ‘bright enough to be a danger to itself’ in flagrantly flouting its own rule (113), perhaps to save ‘pennies’ on V.A.T., AND  THEREBY BECOMING DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR the ‘Stars of ’79’ financial farce. Cash changed hands without receipts or records – money regularly went in and out of buckets (one of which was temporarily ‘mislaid’!)- questions hung over ‘who had or had not paid how much to whom and for what’, and any number of folk had ample opportunity to make ‘mistakes’, but finding a scapegoat for a self engendered disaster was predictable behaviour from people with a history of failing to answer legitimate questions!

Mortonjag understands that the Police were singularly unimpressed by the Trust’s ‘evidence’, and ‘bad business practice’, yet ‘Master’ Duncan would have all believe that ‘It may even once more become the subject of a police investigation’ after the Trust has ‘sought legal advice’! The Trust has its very own ‘In House Policeman’. Why does it now need to ‘seek legal advice’ before scampering to the real ‘Polis’ as it so willingly did before? Has faith been lost in ‘Columbo’ Goodwin, and his ‘open and shut’ cases? Has his 100% confidence disappeared in a puff of smoke?!!

Predictably – perhaps INEVITABLY – ‘IT’S JUST TAKING THEM LONGER THAN THEY THOUGHT’., AS AFTER ALL, ‘THESE THINGS DO TAKE TIME’!!

THOSE THINGS ARE BEING MADE TO TAKE TIME, and the Trust Committee’s ‘MASTERFOOL’ inactivity won’t fool perceptive members whose collective £120,000 investment it currently oversees. With an A.G.M. looming, Mortonjag envisages much praying for miracles! You can’t fool all of the people all of the time, and should the Trust EVER ‘seek legal advice as to what action is now available’ it will most probably be told to stick its investigation “where the sun don’t shine’, though the actual wording may be slightly more discreet. Lawyers, after all, charge for their services – and invariably issue V.A.T receipts.

Meanwhile on ‘Bell’s Comic’ a vocal minority of gullible fools still hangs on the ‘Master’s every word, seemingly oblivious to the thoughts of the silent majority, many of whom appear afraid to ‘rock the boat’ for fear of the wrath of  ‘Almighty Tontastic’!

AND IT’S NOT GOING TO GO AWAY

DETAIL OF BELL’S BAN OF MJ

Mortonjag’s headline refers in this instance to those who break their own rules, and specifically  to the proprietor of Greenockmorton.org – the message board from which Mortonjag is banned sine die. That the ‘Supporters Trust’ regularly uses David Bell’s message board as a ‘propaganda platform’ and that Mr Bell has attempted to silence Mortonjag are no coincidence. When Mortonjag asked pertinent questions of the Trust Committee’s handling of their ‘Stars of ’79’ fiasco, he was subjected to a sustained smear campaign on ‘Bell’s Comic’ – a campaign openly facilitated by Mr Bell and his tame ‘Moderators’ – that despite Mr Bell’s rules clearly indicating that his forum is ‘hosted in the UK and is subject to its defamation laws’.

When serially defamatory statements were made by two posters, one of whom, Sean Donnelly, is a Trust Committee member. Mortonjag requested  support and protection from Mr.Bell who dismissively equated allegations of  the former’s having been struck off the Medical Register to his using a nickname for the Club Chairman!

So, seeking only fair play, Mortonjag obeyed Mr. Bell’s own rules regarding defamation and sought legal advice.

A private letter was sent to one of the offenders, asking for a response within fourteen days. Instead, that was posted on Mr Bell’s website. No attempt was made by the Proprietor either to delete the posting, or to stop the resultant ‘debate’, that coinciding with Mortonjag’s being banned without warning or explanation!

‘Bell’s Comic’ remains subject to UK defamation laws, yet ironically, whilst Mr.Bell elected to aid and abet blatant defamation to further his own agenda, this poster who sought to abide by Mr Bell’s own ‘rules’ was banned without explanation and without warning.

Perceptive posters have been asking on the Trust’s ‘propaganda platform’ why Mortonjag was banned. They have been told by ‘the Big Mod’s puppets’ that Mortonjag was ‘in breach of the rules’, though they appear unable to say which rule or rules Mortonjag breached!!!

The truth of course  is that Mr Bell’s arrogant and dismissive handling of repeated requests for even handedness were compounded by an unconscionable improvidence in his presumption that by ‘silencing’ Mortonjag  he has gained immunity from legal action!

WHY DID YOU ENDORSE A CASH IN HAND’ EVENT MR. DUNCAN?

Stars Of 79 Night 6th Nov, 30 Years Since We Topped the Premier League
Written by Sean (Donnelly) Tuesday, 23 June 2009:

‘As some may know, the Greenock Morton Supporters Trust have planned a night to celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the Players and Staff who took us to the top of the Premier League away back in 1979. The Date is 6th Nov 2009, venue Port Glasgow Town Hall, 1900-0100am………. The aim is not to make money but to make it as cheap as possible so ‘real fans’ can get along, any money that maybe made will go to the new Greenock Morton Football Acadamy’.

The above announcement preceded an event which was declared an outstanding success by all who attended.  Jim Gallacher who co-organised the event with Sean Donnelly and with whom he was       JOINTLY responsible for the largely cash dealings, received the following emails from respected ex-players:

Jim

Just want to say thank you for a great night. So glad I came. To see all the lads again was brilliant.
What a great bunch and not a bad team too!!

Thanks Again
Joe McLaughlin

Hi Jim

It was a fantastic night on Friday. You and your fellow members did us proud. It was good to see my team mates again also be in amongst my ‘ain folk’, the fans.

They were different class.

I’ve just watched the DVD for the 3rd time, brill.

Thanks again and good luck wi’ your new manager.

Jim Holmes

Perhaps the aim had not been to make money, but things turned sour when an apparent deficit emerged. The finger of blame was pointed at Jim Gallacher, who became the subject of a C.I.D. investigation. He was questioned extensively,  the Trust ‘evidence’ thoroughly scrutinized, and subsequently this report appeared in the Greenock Telegraph:

No charges in fan cash probe

A POLICE probe into the alleged disappearance of thousands of pounds from a Morton fans’ fundraiser has ended in no charges being brought.
The Tele recently revealed detectives had been called in by Greenock Morton Supporters’ Trust after they suspected a substantial four-figure sum had vanished from their recent Stars of 1979 night. But officers have now completed their investigation – and say no one will be prosecuted. Detective Inspector John Dearie, of Greenock CID, said:

’There has to be a proper paper trail and accounts, and in this case that was missing. There is a shortfall of a small amount of cash but this is probably due to the haphazard way it was organised. The shortfall is not a significant sum and nowhere near the sums talked about initially – it could be accounted for by  bad business practice’.

The Trust, however, seemed determined to ’get its man’, and on the very day the ‘Tilly’ report appeared, the following announcement was posted on Greenockmorton.org – Mr David Bell’s ‘Tontastic’ website from which Mortonjag has been banned for asking questions:
Those sentiments were echoed shortly thereafter by the Trust Chairman on David Bell’s message board and on the Trust website:

Written by Stuart Duncan
Saturday, 30 January 2010
The police probe into the events surrounding the Stars of ’79 event has been dropped. They have completed their investigation and said no one would be prosecuted.
The Supporters’ Trust are extrememly disappointed, given the information we supplied to the police, that no action is being taken.

Chairman Stuart Duncan said: ” The Supporters’ Trust has organised many successful fundraisng events over the years where we have raised a great deal of money that has gone to Morton youth – such as the Champions’ Party in Greenock Sports Centre  and last year’s Fans’ Game at Cappielow, which raised £5000.”

“We are extremely dissapointed the Stars of ’79 evening – attended by 280 people – produced a deficit to the Supporters’ Trust of £1600. The Supporters’ Trust may pursue a civil action to recover money and items which are still due to them.”

Incidentally, Jim Gallacher had been heavily involved in the organization of that  Fans’ game without a murmur of dissent!

Fully five weeks elapsed before this announcement appeared on the Trust Website, a link to which was inevitably posted by Mr Donnelly on David Bell’s ‘propaganda platform’.

Update on Stars of ’79 Event

Written by Stuart Duncan
Friday, 05 March 2010
The Supporters’ Trust have now completed their own investigation into the affairs of the Stars of ’79 Celebration evening.
Many lessons have been learned.

As a result of those  investigation, which resulted in representatives of the Trust speaking to many people not previously spoken to by the police, a report has been compiled on the events leading up to the evening, the activities on the night of the event  and activities that took place after the event. Given the contents of the report The Board of the Trust have agreed to seek legal advice as to what action is now available to them.
We will keep you updated on any developments.

That was fully a week ago.  Mortonjag is watching with great interest for news of ‘any developments’, though the Trust’s only consistency appears to be that ALL things take time!

Meanwhile:

‘Many lessons have been learned’. Could one of those relate to the C.I.D.’s perception of:

‘Bad business practice’?

It is common knowledge that the Trust encouraged cash payments for goods and services. It has been suggested that that was deliberately done to avoid having to pay V.A.T.
…….And as D.I. Dearie said when he cited ‘bad business practice’:
’There has to be a proper paper trail and accounts, and in this case that was missing’.

Should the Trust have known better? Is it remotely conceivable that the experienced Chairman of an organization responsible for some £120,000 of supporters’ money – a man renowned for his complicated facts and figures ‘answers’ to simple questions – could have been unaware of his own rules?

Perhaps the answer lurks within Mr Duncan’s concession that ‘many lessons have been learned’, though ‘his’ rules may be easily accessed by anyone who dares to question the Trust (with the implicit caveat that such behaviour may damage ones reputation and/or professional standing).

RULES OF THE SOCIETY

113. The Society is to keep proper books of account with respect to its transactions and to its assets and liabilities in accordance with Sections 1 and 2 of the Friendly and Industrial and Provident Societies Act 1968.

…and here are those two sections of that Act:

Friendly and Industrial and Provident Societies Act 1968

Books of account, etc

(1)Every society shall—
(a)cause to be kept proper books of account with respect to its transactions and its assets and liabilities, and
(b)establish and maintain a satisfactory system of control of its books of account, its cash holdings and all its receipts and remittances.
(2)For the purposes of paragraph (a) of the preceding subsection proper books of account shall not be taken to be kept with respect to the matters mentioned in that paragraph if there are not kept such books as are necessary to give a true and fair view of the state of the affairs of the society and to explain its transactions.

‘Establish and maintain a satisfactory system of control of ALL ITS RECEIPTS AND REMITTANCES

It seems to Mortonjag that the Trust deliberately ignored its own rule (113).

The Trust committee has corporate responsibility for prudent stewardship of members’ finances. That CANNOT be escaped. Attempting to transfer to one individual total responsibility for a catastrophic financial farce of the Trust’s own making  just ‘doesn’t wash’.

DONNELLY RE. THE LOSS OF THE BUCKET AND MJ’S COMMENT

     ‘The Bucket’.

A ‘Once Upon a Time’ Story?

‘I see it has been brought up by some a few times so here is the true story behind it all. The ‘Bucket’ relates to the raffle and program money raised on the night. Now after money was taken from this by Jim to pay one of the speakers(Jim, Stuart and myself confirm), and money left was counted after this, the total written down and confirmed by Stuart, Jim and myself.
Total money in this bucket was confirmed and by my side as we cleaned up.At 3-4am we left the town hall after cleaning up, taxi home, and bucket was in the boot.Taxi dropped us off, but moved away before we opened the boot, quick call to taxi company and money was retreived, all monies counted and balance confirmed with that counted on the night infront of Stuart, Jim and myself.
The monies in the bucket are confirmed in accounts and at no stage has that ever been questioned.
If anyone has ever asked me I have told the same event that happened, the truth. All that can be confirmed.
Here is the story of the bucket, though I laughed in the morning after the event, if any or all of the money in that bucket had been found to be missing I would have paid it back myself as I was in charge of this money on the night.
There is nothing to hide from this story. Though Chinese whispers seems to have done it wonders…brilliant the power of gosssip’.

There is nothing to hide from this story’ said Mr Donnelly on Greenockmorton.org – the website from which Mortonjag is currently banned for asking questions.

Mr Donnelly says many things.

Mr Donnelly stated recently on David Bell’s ‘propaganda platform’ that  people ‘should NOT discuss’ a Trust update on its self engendered financial fiasco, ‘The Stars of ’79’.

…..YET ONLY SIX HOURS LATER  Mr Donnelly published private ‘Stars of ’79’ accounts on Greenockmorton.org. in a palpable attempt to re-focus attention on Jim Gallacher whom the Trust has accused of theft.

Mr. Donnelly co-organised that event with Mr Gallacher. They had joint responsibility for collecting the ‘moneys’ most of which arrived by way of unreceipted cash!!!

Mr. Donnelly’s memory, as demonstrated above, is clearly faulty!  Mortonjag tends to take Mr. Donnelly’s statements ‘with a pinch of salt’.

Mortonjag has reason to believe that Mr. Donnelly’s ‘Tale of the Pail’  may simply be a load of rubbish.

DUNCAN CLAIMS THEY ALWAYS INTENDED TO INVESTIGATE ‘AFTER THE POLICE’.

‘Couldn’t disagree with you more Ian. Its was always our intention to fully investigate further, after the police decided not to act, before taking legal advice. Its just taken us longer than we thought to get to everyone we wanted to speak to. But we are confident of getting a result one way or another. It may even once more become the subject of a police investigation.’

That’s ‘the latest’  from Stuart Duncan, Director of Greenock Morton F.C., and current Chairman of the Greenock Morton Supporters’ Society Ltd. Yet again it appeared on Greenockmorton.org, the website from which Mortonjag is currently banned apparently for asking questions. The ‘Trust’ has its own dedicated website, but regularly accesses David Bell’s forums when wishing to disseminate important propaganda.

Mr Duncan is reportedly about to ‘step aside’ from his current position in order to ‘front’ the much vaunted Inverclyde Sports Academy. His heir apparent is Sean Donnelly, a man who recently published private ‘accounts’ on Mr Bell’s message board, having stated only hours previously that such matters should not be discussed.

The  ‘Academy’ has so far failed to ‘get off the ground’. Many suggest that it never will. Mortonjag is confident  that Mr. Duncan will ‘get a result’ one way or another’. So will Mr Brown in the impending General Election!

The current Trust chairman appears to  talk in riddles designed to confuse the less perceptive.
For example:

‘Its was always our intention to fully investigate further, AFTER  the police decided’…..

What does that mean?  It is certainly subject to wide interpretation!

Perhaps Mr Duncan means that the Trust had always intended to do that BEFORE the police decided one way or another.  A ‘belt and braces’ effort’ if you will.

……BUT the police decided on the strength of the Trust’s ‘evidence’ that Mr Duncan & Co. had overseen ‘ haphazard accounting’, and that ‘no proper paper trail’ existed. It has even been suggested that the Police regarded the matter as a ‘total waste of their valuable time’.

‘Its just taken us longer than we thought’.

WHY?
The Trust committee appears to be ‘a law unto itself’, despite questionable entitlement to that privilege. The Trust is   ‘run’  by complete amateurs – people who ironically cite that very excuse when asked for information or explanation.  Trust representatives are not known for acting hastily – though exceptions have occurred:

Five weeks have elapsed since that bullish statement – during which ‘The Sword of Damacles’ has perpetually hung over the head of one man on whom the Trust appears ever more desperate to pin blame for a financial shambles of its own making!

With that in mind, Mortonjag welcomes Mr Duncan’s apparently ominous statement that:

‘It may even once more become the subject of a police investigation’.

Mortonjag is of the opinion that a PROPER criminal investigation would undoubtedly uncover the REAL truth, something which is most certainly welcome. The Trust claims to have ‘completed its report’. Investigations are, however, ongoing elsewhere..

DONNELLY’S CONTRADICTIONS AND LIES ON THE FORUMS – IS HE TRUSTWORTHY?

It appears that questions about the ‘Stars’ of ’79 debacle (the ‘cash bash’ of convenience from which the Greenock Morton Supporters Society Ltd. has palpably tried to distance itself by blaming an apparent deficit on one ‘fall guy’) just won’t go away.

Following Chairman Stuart Duncan’s confusing comments yesterday, this post appeared on the ‘Trust’ section of Greenockmorton.org – the website from which Mortonjag is currently banned:

Just a small update for you all, I know its not much but these things do take time. And most we cannot discuss until it is all over with. Hope you all bear with us in this matter

From information received, Mortonjag understands that Se65an is Mr Sean Donnelly, a Trust Board member, co-organiser with Mr Gallacher of the ‘Stars’ bash, and perceived by many as the likely successor to Mr Duncan. The posting above is certainly in keeping with such a man.
Yesterday evening the following post appeared on the ‘Jesse Ventura’ section of Greenockmorton.org, the website from which Mortonjag is currently banned:

So am a ‘chameleon'( to big a word for me) yet you believe the word of a thief. Cool

Enjoy.

I know I will have a happy life. Get a life.

Hate **** with blinkers on, never thought you would be one

Explain to me £300 Hospitality, when I paid it and it was £200
Explain to me £200 for T-Shirts when I paid it and it was £120
Explain to me £250 for mobile phone costs, **** me gees half
Explain to me £25 a head for bottles of vodka when no staff got any, and it only cost £8
Explain to me a drink to the value of £500 STILL IN JIM G’s House unless he has drank it and he confesses to having has yet to be returned, dispite us asking for it to be returned.
Explain £2-300 in cash he admits to having yet dispite asking has yet to be banked.

This whole thing stinks.

You don’t make it any better, and yes I has proof of all of that and more.

OK the police said not enough evidence, reason why, said person has all receipts

Mortonjag is confused. Firstly Se65an (member no.17,013) assured forum users that ‘those things do take time’, exhorting them to ‘bear with us’, and stating that ‘we cannot discuss it until it is all over with’, and then a mere six hours later, Se65an (member no. 17,013) appeared to be publishing financial information relating to the very matter which ‘cannot be discussed’.
Mortonjag fully expects that by now the Owner and Moderators of Greenockmorton.org, the site from which Mortonjag is currently banned, will have dealt stringently with the impostor who clearly hi-jacked Mr Donnelly’s identity yesterday evening in what appears to have been a contemptible attempt to discredit an honest and respectable man.
The website owner and Moderators would surely NEVER permit publication of financial ‘information’ which might prejudice ongoing enquiries. They are, after all, impartial and even handed in all matters. Indeed they have a history of banning without warning posters whom they feel may harm the reputation of Greenockmorton.org., just as it should be!
OR that is what they’d have us believe – but a ‘set of accounts’ WAS previously published by a poster calling himself ‘Andy M’, ‘accounts’ about which the Moderators allowed a great deal of debate and speculation. Those ‘accounts’, Mortonjag understands, should have been available only to Trust Board members. ‘Andy M’ is not on the Trust Committee, although Mortonjag is informed that he is ‘extremely close to’ Danny Goodwin, the Trust Board member who purportedly ‘ran to the Police’ in the first place.
It seems to Mortonjag that not all may be well with the ownership and Moderation of Greenockmorton.org., when it comes to dealing even handedly with the ‘Stars of ’79’ issue’. Indeed Mortonjag is entirely satisfied that his current ban is the direct result of his attempting to ask legitimate questions on the message board!
Is it remotely possible that the respectable Trust Board member Se65an who commends privacy and patience, and the irascible Se65an who ‘hates **** with blinkers on’, and who publishes purportedly genuine financial information about a currently ‘sub judice’ matter, may  be one and the same person?
…..and  if  so, is this a person suitable to hold down a position of trust?

THE TRUST COMPLETES ‘IT’S OWN INVESTIGATION – DUNCAN CLAIMS LESSONS HAVE BEEN LEARNED!

Written by Stuart Duncan
Friday, 05 March 2010
The Supporters’ Trust have now completed their own investigation into the affairs of the Stars of ’79 Celebration evening.
Many lessons have been learn
As a result of those  investigation, which resulted in representatives of the Trust speaking to many people not previously spoken to by the police, a report has been compiled on the events leading up to the evening, the activities on the night of the event  and activities that took place after the event. Given the contents of the report The Board of the Trust have agreed to seek legal advice as to what action is now available to them.
We will keep you updated on any developments.

Five weeks have elapsed since Mr Goodwin, the ex Glasgow ‘cop’ who apparently left the force on account of a ‘bad back’ posted the following on greenockmorton.org, the site from which Mortonjag is currently banned.

Five weeks have elapsed since Mr Duncan expressed 100% confidence in recovering the ‘missing’ money.

Finally ‘a report has been compiled’. Shouldn’t that have been done in the first place? Is it any wonder that the Police sent the Trust packing, citing ‘haphazard accounting’, and stating that there was ‘no case to answer’?

Five weeks have elapsed since Jim Gallacher was openly accused of theft on greenockmorton.org.on the strength of ‘his own investigations which Mr Goodwin had actually been able to carry out’, and that after the real Police had dismissed the matter!!!

…..and now the Trust has agreed to seek legal advice. What a bizarre phrase! Was there some argument? Has this been done against their better judgement?

Perhaps after another five weeks have elapsed Mr Duncan will be informing us that:

‘Having sought legal advice the Trust has agreed that no further action should be taken’.

As a Trust member, Mortonjag recommends that any legal fees be paid by cheque and a V.A.T. receipt be obtained.

After all – ‘Many lessons have been learned.’!!!
