Two intelligent professional men – Trust loan note holders David Edwards and ‘TAFKAC’ have commented that (like Mortonjag’s brother who ‘invested’ £1000) they believe in the concept of a fans’ Trust but are disillusioned by the events of the last year at the Greenock Morton Supporters’ Society.
It is apparent that a ‘relaunch’ is required if ‘The Trust’ is to survive the well documented financial shambles that was ‘The Stars of ’79’ celebration overseen by Stuart Duncan the Trust Chairman.
Paul Gill, the Mancunian committee member behind the current ‘relaunch’ and a newcomer to Inverclyde, flagrantly discounts the fact that he deliberately chose to accept Stuart Duncan’s version of events at a committee meeting on 24th June where they unanimously agreed to the ongoing pursuit of Trust member Jim Gallacher in a dubious attempt to justify blatantly defamatory allegations of theft made by committee members Goodwin and Donnelly. Goodwin’s statement WAS RATIFIED IN WRITING BY DUNCAN, something which may ultimately prove embarrassing for Douglas Rae the owner of Greenock Morton F.C. of which Duncan is a director.
All present at that meeting were well aware of an unexplained deficit of ~ £1500 in Sean Donnelly’s ticket income from the ‘Stars’ event, as the Trust solicitor had previously been asked for an explanation by Mr. Gallacher’s legal representative – a request which Messrs. Blair and Bryden chose to ignore. Nevertheless it was stated immediately thereafter that they had ‘examined all of the evidence’, and that they supported the actions of the committee to date.
Mr. Robinson the Trust treasurer who declined to have anything to do with Mr. Gallacher despite the latter’s offer to ‘go through all of the figures with him’ refused in a subsequent ‘across the board’ meeting to discuss Donnelly’s deficit while attempting to ‘bully’ Mr. Gallacher into ‘making an offer’ – something which is on record. Inexplicably Robinson has failed to fulfil a promise to the membership to supply the findings of a sub committee of three (of which Donnelly is a member) set up to examine the evidence after ‘ALL OF THE EVIDENCE HAD BEEN EXAMINED’. Even more bizarrely he states that the outcome ‘is of no concern’ to Mr. Gallacher – a bona fide Trust member!
The silent majority undoubtedly perceives that a relaunch is required if the Trust is to survive the financial shambles overseen by Mr. Duncan. Unfortunately for all who care about the Trust, the current committee appears to have burned its boats.

‘A lot more knowledgeable on the subject than your are . I was involved and know the facts, not the made up stories posted by some on here’.
‘Dunco’s been at it again on Bell’s Comic – what a buffoon.
The truth of course is that ‘Dunco’ himself was inextricably involved in the most notorious made up story ever posted on that teetering rag. Here it is again in all its glory from Glenburn Place’s very own Jackanory!
….and Mr Plod didn’t stop there either – not a bit of it – just for the avoidance of doubt he later pronounced:
ALMOST INCREDIBLY he who must be believed – ‘Dunco the Knowledgeable’ – the James Watt College Professor who cons gullible old accountants, eager young Ph.D. students, paranoid Mancunian interlopers, and innocent ‘prang’ victims with his silvery tongued lies and spin couldn’t resist chipping in with:
‘Try new glasses!!
I can answer that and it will also be my last post on the subject. I have a detailed account of all moneys paid into the Trust account and all monies paid out of the Trust account for the event. And a very clear paper trail with both cheque stubs and pay in book stubs backed up by Trust bank account statements from the BOS.There is a very clear deficit of £1600 for the event.
BTW I agree with Danny summation given he has also made enquiries of people the police didn’t talk to’.
THE DEFAMATION ACTION IS LOOMING LARGE ‘DUNCO’
You claim that you are not arrogant, deluded, blinkered intransigent or a buffoon. You are, however, A MATCHLESS MAESTRO of made up stories!

As some may know, the Greenock Morton Supporters Trust have planned a night to celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the Players and Staff who took us to the top of the Premier League away back in 1979. The Date is 6th Nov 2009, venue Port Glasgow Town Hall, 1900-0100am………..
……The aim is not to make money but to make it as cheap as possible so‘real fans’ can get along, any money that maybe made will go to the new Greenock Morton Football Acadamy.
The money raised, £5000, from last years fans game was deposited in the Trust account in the expectation that the Academy would be up and running beginning of January 2010
We had also hoped to raise another
£5000 from the ’79 night,
plus money from the sales of the DVDs on the night. We have the money from the DVD sales which if memory serves me right was around the £1600 mark. Unfortunately we never received the money we were expecting from the ’79 night.
IT JUST DOESN’T ADD UP – DOES IT MR.
You cannot refute the fact that the evening was NOT designed to run at a profit (nor a loss for that matter), nor can you refute the fact that Messrs. Morrison and (your fellow Academy Director) Goodwin – who currently faces defamation charges – flatly refused to allow the DVD proceeds to be incorporated in the Stars finances despite being an integral part of the celebration. That income has never been incorporated in the multivarious sets of ‘accounts’ produced in an attempt to ‘stitch up’ Jim Gallacher. WHY?
You cannot refute the fact that you authorised cash payments for the speakers and caterers to cut costs and save on V.A.T. yet that Goodwin later demanded to see V.A.T. receipts for those very services as he contrived to involve the police. That series of often contradictory, theatening, and bullying emails sent to Mr. Gallacher by yourself and others will be published at an appropriate time.
Was your ‘nose in a poke’ when no apparent profit emerged for your Academy? Did you forget that no profit was planned, AND that you still you had your DVD income?
Most of all, had you known of Donnelly’s ~ £1500 in missing ticket money at the time, would it have made any difference when you had expected £5000 from a ‘not for profit’ event?
THAT JUST DOESN’T ADD UP
EITHER – DOES IT MR. DUNCAN?
Your tame accountant fellow Robinson may juggle with his numbers till the cows come home, and those young and ineffectual committee ‘newbies’ can get heady on your spin and lies till rigor mortis sets in, but to quote your goodself Mr. Duncan SIR, when all’s done and dusted – when the full truth is exposed – THE FACTS AND FIGURES WON’T LIE!
Shame on you, a Trust Chairman, and a Director of Greenock Morton F.C., that they have been fed only what you wanted them to hear.
Unthinking respect for authority has been the enemy of truth from the moment non committee member ‘Honest Big Andy’ Morrison ‘read the riot act’ and you meekly marched into Rue End St. to persuade the police that Jim Gallacher was a thief. Donnelly saw that as a chance to cover his tracks, tipping off ‘The Tilly’ and a respected message board poster.
More of Goodwin’s amoral agenda later, but for the time being Mr. Duncan, SIR you cannot refute the fact that you and your fellow committee members had a joint responsibility to ensure that the evening’s finances were run in an accountable manner as demanded in the Trust constitution.
THAT THAT WAS NOT DONE IS ULTIMATELY YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.
