Mortonjag is in possession of a secret document – or to be more precise the G.M.S.T. financial statements for year ended 31st December 2014. Everything appears to be in order. The accounts were independently audited and signed by Cheetham & Co., and approved by the Board on 31st May 2015. The signatories were Mr. Robinson, Mrs Sellar, and Mr. Feeney.
BUT – those documents were never produced for inspection at the 2015 A.G.M. nor appropriately distributed to the membership as is constitutionally obligatory and indeed only found their way to the Mutuals Register earlier this year!
UNBELIEVABLY THE GREENOCK MORTON SUPPORTERS’ SOCIETY LIMITED FAILED TO HOLD AN ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING IN 2015 IN FLAGRANT BREACH OF THEIR OWN CONSTITUTION AND THE RELEVANT ACTS OF PARLIAMENT.
When asked for an explanation of such an unconscionable omission, ex -Chairman Robinson replied that ‘They never seemed to get round to it’. Having been asked formally and on behalf of a paid up Trust member for further explanation, the Trust Secretary refused to comment.
It made no sense at all until you read the following paragraphs in the Chairman’s report.
The ‘Trust’ or rather its ex – Chairman Nick Robinson C.A. certainly had reason to believe that further repercussions were unlikely, as his ‘partner in crime’ Trustee Iain Forsyth of Aviemore was just about to favour a dodgy claim on Jim Gallacher’s Trust Deed which would have been timed perfectly for a triumphant A.G.M.
Mortonjag had other ideas, and those gentlemen are now the subject of a complaint to their professional regulatory body (I.C.A.S.) following advice from the Accountant in Bankruptcy. Furthermore Mortonjag now understands that other Trust members have enlisted assistance from Supporters Direct Scotland and the Financial Conduct Authority.
It seems only a matter of time before the whole sordid mess is exposed by a national tabloid newspaper.
