MORE RE. DODGING DONNELLY’S DEFICIT

IN THE BEGINNING

Corky McCorkindale, the current Morton supporters’ Trust secretary said:
‘I can assure you that I come to the trust with an open mind, and place great value on the skills, duties and responsibilities, which I have gathered in my legal career and education to date – as such all complaints, matters raised with me will be dealt with in an impartial, just and reasonable manner, free from any trust spin.’
Corky also said:
‘I can assure you that I arrive at the trust with an entirely open mind…. I have no particular loyalty to anyone on the board, in a personal capacity’
and:
‘Regarding the ’79 night, I’m at a bit of a loss…… I’d be a pretty flimsy lawyer not to ask questions at both ends.  I like to think that I am not a flimsy lawyer.’
On 24TH JUNE 2010, prior to a watershed committee meeting, Mortonjag said to Corky and to other committee members:
‘Going to Court could prove to be a very costly error for the Trust, and certainly requires a mandate from the Membership ….
…I’ve suggested that tonight your attention may be deliberately focused on the events of the evening itself and on the ‘Trust’s latest version of the figures.
As a fellow Trust member I advise you to think VERY CAREFULLY about the following information.  I believed from the outset that something was being hidden, and Stuart has always claimed that a ‘deficit’ exists for the night. He may well be correct, as available figures appear to indicate that £1400 to £1500 of ticket income was not banked. J.G.’s ‘ticket money’ has been accounted for. Sean was responsible for the rest.
Immediately thereafter Mortonjag, who had been coaxed into talks with committee members, was summarily ‘dismissed’ by Trust treasurer and Big Boss Piniccio  Robinson, something which the former promptly blogged.
In  response Corky said:
‘For the record, I have looked at all of the available information: information supplied by the Trust Board, information supplied to the Trust Board by Jim Gallagher, and information supplied to us by yourself.  On the basis of ALL of that information, I am satisfied that there is sufficient cause for concern……in my view it would be negligent of us, given the information which I have seen  – NOT to pursue this further.’
Fair enough, but what about that missing COMMITTEE MEMBER’S dosh?
Donnelly’s ‘deficit’ was YET AGAIN put very plainly to Corky and Big Boss Piniccio – last August in a city centre lawyer’s office.
 Corky then commented thus:
‘Paul (the lawyer) has thanked us not only for the work which we have done in organising the figures and presenting them to him, but for agreeing to come back to them on other aspects of the night, not directly involving Jim’ (Donnelly’s missing money).
THEY NEVER DID -DESPITE NUMEROUS PROMPTINGS AND DESPITE THE FACT THAT OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS PRODUCED BY BIG BOSS PINICCIO CLEARLY SHOW A SUBSTANTIAL AND UNEXPLAINED DEFICIT IN HIS FELLOW SUB-COMMITTEE MEMBER’S TICKET INCOME.
WHY WAS NO COURT ACTION RAISED AGAINST DONNELLY AND INDEED  WHY WAS THE MATTER NOT REPORTED TO THE C.I.D. WHO HAD ALREADY CLEARED JIM GALLACHER OF IMPROPRIETY?
Well, according to Corky:

The courts are a forum of last resort. If it takes a year to have this resolved out of court, it’s a year well spent, in my view. At the moment, as is well known, the matter is in the hands of the respective lawyers – and not by a kangaroo court. A rush to court at any stage would be in no-one’s best interests: not Jim’s, and not the Trust’s.

Commendable sentiments….

….AND JUST ONE MONTH LATER THEY SET IN MOTION A FRIVOLOUS AND ILL FATED COURT ACTION AGAINST JIM GALLACHER. BIG BOSS HAD, AS EVER, CALLED THE SHOTS…
…and now poor wee Corky’s been left to carry the can with the membership!!
That the Trust committee ACKNOWLEDGES Donnelly’s missing ticket money – which they laughably claim to be ‘dealing with in house’ – while still pursuing an action against his co-organizer whom the C.I.D. have already cleared, represents a farce of proportions surpassed only by Robinson’s pig headed arrogance, and the slevering subservience of his ‘boy lawyer’ puppet McCorkindale.
THE ROAD TO HELL IS PAVED WITH GOOD INTENTIONS.
